Bryan Freedman is an actor, singer-songwriter, and musician based in New York and Philadelphia.
Born in Cambridge, England to a musical family, he has loved writing and performing from an early age. Attending high school in the suburbs of Philadelphia, he would attend open mics and put on intimate concerts after classes and rehearsals, experimenting to find his sound and his audience.
He would go on to attend Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, studying drama and musical theatre at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and the New Studio on Broadway.
Graduating in the winter of 2019/2020, he quickly found himself entering an industry of live entertainment that had shut down. He found comfort and solace in returning to songwriting and performing his own material, which explores his relationships with his mixed-race heritage, culture, religion, family, love, doubt, and nature.
Bryan Freedman's upcoming debut EP, The Hudson River Park EP, utilizes indie-folk storytelling to explore themes of doubt and seasonal depression through the lenses of love, family, community, nature, and the places he has called home. Paradise, the first single off the EP releases on 12 December 2020, and asks where we find our "moment's rest and small relief" when the world is dark.
“My life amounts to no more than one drop in a limitless ocean. Yet what is any ocean, but a multitude of drops?”
